Portraits

Here are some portraits that I love. The models are Elena (Ice models), Sian (Ice models) from The Changing Room shoot. And Riana (Alushi), from the Berry G Fashion shoot. The make up artists were Ana Pompa, and Charlene Warwick respectively.

The Changing Room

So...It's been a long time since I last blogged so here are a few of my latest pics.

I did a shoot for a Women's clothing boutique called The Changing Room. Sian Ryan and Elena Pappas (both with ICE JHB) were the models and we went a little hippie chic for the location shots which were a lot of fun, despite the freezing cold weather.

The girls did a fantastic job with interesting and creative (Elena, hehe) poses that show off the clothing.

Hope you like. :)

Designer Terri Kaye's range

I had so much fun on this shoot. It my first time shooting black girls in studio, which is very different to shooting white girls, as the skin tone reacts completely different under studio lights. So while I was testing the difference in light, I decided why not go all out and try something completely different. So I did, and I must say I'm quite happy with the results.

And Terri's designs are just too funky for words! It was a challenging shoot because it's so different to the usual stuff that I do but I think I managed to get the sexy yet playful mood of the clothes to come across in the images.

Thanks to Kelli Fuchs for doing the make up, which looked amazing under the lights, to Terri for the awesome clothes, and to the models Mo and Tumi for being such great models.

Claudine

I met Claudine when I had only just started photography in 2008. She was doing a shoot with the photographer that I was apprenticing for. Claudine is South African but has been living in the UK now for some time. She was here to visit her friends and family, and this time she asked if I could do a shoot with her.

I was so happy to finally be able to shoot her, because she is just a fantastic and beautiful girl, inside and out. I had a lot of fun on our shoot, because it was the first location shoot I had done in a while. So I woke up at the crack of dawn (another first) to prepare for our early morning shoot. Another first was my male apprentice, Tommy, who was a great help on the shoot and a great morale booster. It was definitely a different experience for me to be bossing a guy around instead of a girl. :)

The morning was a beautiful one, but when we got to the location it was so misty, being so early, so we worked around it, and in some of the shots even worked with it, giving the shots a dream-like feel. I love all of the pictures from this shoot, but have posted my favorites for you to have a look at. I also tried something different with the lighting for the studio shots, so would love your opinion...

I hope your all having a great weekend, my work for the weekend is now done, so Im off to relax!!

Chloe 2

Here's another picture from the shoot with Chloe that I just love and thought you may appreciate.

One thing I forgot to mention in the last post is that the brilliant make up and hair was done by the amazing Kelli Fuchs! She has been my resident make up artist for the whole of this year and has done an amazing job on every single look that we have done. Kelli took Chloe from girl next door to high fashion model with ease.

Chloe - Ice

I had the pleasure of shooting Chloe. A multi-talented young lady, and a fantastic person, originally from Brussels, Belgium but has been living in South Africa for some time now.

Up until I shot Chloe I had never taken pictures of a red-head, so when I first saw her I was so happy to see that she was a red-head!!

It has been a while since the shoot, but here is the first picture.

More Sarah Britten shots and my week last week

Wow what a week. Things are really starting to pick up, its so exciting!! :)

I have finally finished editing all of author Sarah Britten's pictures and have attached my favorites for you to have a look at.

Other then editing all of last week I also had a shoot with designer Terri Kaye and make up artist Kelli Fuchs. With Terri's amazingly eye-popping designs, and Kelli's amazing make up work, the shoot came out even better then I had hoped for. Keep an eye out for the pictures!

I also had the pleasure of letting out my studio on Sunday afternoon for a PIX magazine shoot done by Suren Pillay, with model Candy Weir and make up artist Stavvie! Two crazy, awesomely fun girls who had me laughing the whole afternoon, which made spending my Sunday afternoon supervising (and not even getting to shoot) all worthwhile!!

Have a great evening and keep an eye out for my new pics.
